Do Hip/Knee Replacements Have a Link to Risk of Heart Attacks?

With age, one very common thing troubling senior citizens is knee problems or hip-related problems, most often after a fall. And the treatment for this is usually knee replacement or hip replacement. 

This process is said to involve implantation of large foreign metals which is welded to the bone. The metal is usually a mix of alloys – cobalt, titanium, nickel, zinc and chrome. Medical experts note a 2-3% incidence of metal allergy in patients with one or more components of the alloy. Most often there is no reaction to this alloy in patients but sometimes patients do experience mild severity. In very rare cases, patients can possibly develop a reaction that looks similar to a heart attack! Whoa!!
