Vaginal rejuvenation? Hmm, what is that?? Why should women opt for this procedure. How do I benefit? Is it safe?
These are just some questions that appear uppermost in women’s mind but are simply just too shy to ask.
You may find some of the answers here as a well known aesthetic doctor from Fusion Medical and Health Screening Centre answers frequent questions about vaginal rejuvenation. Read on…..
What exactly does vaginal rejuvenation do?
This is a painless day procedure. In vaginal rejuvenation, the procedure helps stimulate collagen synthesis in both the vaginal and urethral wall. Because of new collagen synthesis in these areas, as a result, it improves pelvic floor support and tightens the vaginal canal
Does it really work?
The results are most dramatic a few weeks after the initial treatment. As the effectiveness may vary amongst individuals, the doctor can perform a second and third session at least 1 month apart.
Am I the right candidate for one?
Each individual’s case is different from another. The doctor is in the best position to advise you after an assessment of your history and evaluation of your symptoms. Do visit your doctor for a consultation.
At our clinic Fusion Medical and Health Screening Centre a lady doctor is available for consultation.
Should I wait till I’m done with bearing children before I undergo Vaginal Rejuvenation?
You don’t need to.
How is the procedure performed and will it be painful?
It is a painless procedure and will take approximately 15 minutes.
How safe is it, how does it benefit me and what are the risks?
It is generally safe and can help to address the following concerns:
Stress Urinary Incontinence(SUI): SUI which affects 40% of women is a common and embarrassing female problem that causes involuntary leaking of urine during coughing, sneezing and laughing. Vaginal rejuvenation targets the pelvic muscles that have weakened due to childbirth, ageing and obesity.
Vaginal Relaxation Syndrome (VRS): VRS is defined as laxity in the vaginal wall which is commonly caused by the over stretching of the vaginal wall during childbirth and ageing. This may lead in sexual dissatisfaction between partners.
Vaginal Atrophy(VA): VA refers to the thinning, drying and inflammation of the vaginal wall that may occur due to lower oestrogen levels as a result of menopause. VA can lead to pain and discomfort during intercourse and increase incidences such as urinary tract infection and vaginal thrush.
How long is the healing? And how soon can I resume sex after the procedure?
Healing is fast, usually within 3 days after the treatment. One may resume sex thereafter.
