There is much debate about what kind of exercise is better for your health: aerobic or anaerobic? What are these forms of exercise anyway? Lets find out!
Aerobic exercise, such as walking, cycling or running, means that you are moving your body, breathing faster and increasing blood flow. This is the level of activity that you can maintain for a long time. If you can easily talk during exercise, not that you have no exercise, but you can breathe lightly and cannot speak, then you are at the level of aerobic exercise.
Anaerobic exercises, such as sprinting or weightlifting, are short-lived, intense activities that allow your exercise to reach its highest level and cannot last long.
Which is more suitable for weight loss?
Both aerobic exercise and anaerobic exercise are good, you should incorporate it into your daily exercise. However, if your main concern is degreasing, anaerobic exercise is the way to go.
The difference between aerobic and anaerobic exercise is basically due to the oxygen levels each of these exercise forms generate.
In aerobic or “aerobic” sports, your muscles have enough oxygen to produce the energy needed for exercise. An oxygen-free “anaerobic” exercise means that the oxygen demand is greater than the oxygen supply and cannot keep up with the energy the body needs. This leads to lactic acid production and eventually stops movement.
Aerobic exercise or steady state cardiac motion occurs at a steady low to moderate velocity. This exercise using slow muscle fibers is important for cardiovascular conditioning and improving muscle endurance.
Although it is generally believed that this low-intensity heart is the best for fat loss, think again. Although a higher percentage of fat is used as energy rather than muscle glycogen, the total energy burned at this level is pretty much lower than what happens in anaerobic exercise for a period of time. This means that for most people, long hours of aerobic exercise are needed to achieve significant fat loss. This usually leads to a plateau.
Anaerobic exercise is in fact, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), which is a form of “interval training”. How is this beneficial? There are several reasons for this.
First of all, you can do intense exercise in a very short period of time. If time is a limitation for you, the HIIT conference is a good choice. You will use your muscles to burn more calories instead of the same period of time you are in stable condition.
Second, you will consume more calories during this time. At the end of the day, the harder you exercise, the more calories you consume. HIIT will cause your calorie consumption to be higher than you walking or riding a bike in the same amount of time.
Third, you will increase muscle and increase your metabolism. HIIT requires that your fast-twitch fibers be sprinted to enhance measurements and weightlifting, which will increase muscle size and strength. This means that you will increase muscle mass, which in turn will speed up your metabolism because muscles burn more fat calories.
Fourth, you will experience the post-combustion effect. The scientific name for the post-combustion effect is the amount of oxygen consumed after exercise (EPOC). EPOC is the amount of oxygen needed to return the body to rest. HIIT sessions stimulate higher EPOCs because more oxygen is consumed during this period, resulting in a bigger deficit to replace exercise after exercise. This means that even if your HIIT session ends, you will continue to burn calories.
Although HIIT is beneficial for fat loss as an anaerobic exercise, there are some drawbacks.
The biggest drawback is that it is not for everyone. Before you can safely and effectively participate in HIIT, you need a basic level of fitnessl. If you are new to exercise, it may be too intense for your body, especially your heart.
If you can perform HIIT, exercises such as enhanced measurements, sprints and weightlifting will increase the chance of injury because these bursts are fast and require a lot of force.
Finally, HIIT may be very painful during the meeting because of the high intensity or because of the pain.
