I graduated from University of Malaya in 2001 and obtained my post-graduate qualification in Internal Medicine (MRCP, UK) five years later. I began my nephrology career in 2008 and won overseas scholarships from the International Society of Nephrology and Department of Health of Western Australia in 2011 which enabled me to do a fellowship in Nephrology at Royal Perth Hospital, Australia. I joined University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) as a Consultant Nephrologist and Physician as well as Senior Lecturer (2011-2015). I have published in peer-reviewed international journals and presented at numerous conferences both at national and international arenas. I was the Director of Dialysis Service at UMMC and continues to serve as consulting nephrologist to charitable haemodialysis centres.
