Professional Statement
After growing up in a Chiropractic clinic, and explaining to his friends what exactly a Chiropractor does, it seemed natural for Dr. Masters to enter the same profession as his father, uncles and aunts. Dr. Masters started college at the age of 17, and was lucky enough to secure funding to study Chiropractic and Functional Neurology at post-graduate levels, completing 12 years at University and obtaining three professional qualifications.

During the past ten years, Dr. Masters have worked with elite athletes and professional sportsmen, as well as providing palliative care in the elderly and infirm. He utilises a combination of several types of therapies to achieve the treatment goals, be they complete cure or maintenance of function.

Novena Chiropractic specialises in Neurological Chiropractic practice, which treats ‘soft’ neurological lesions; the parts of the brain are still anatomically intact, but they are either non-functional or not functioning adequately, and the health of the patient is reduced as a result. A Neurological Chiropractor concerns themselves with the distinction between ‘Function’ of a nerve, and the ‘Performance’ of the nerve. A sports car and family saloon car have the same function, but the performance of one is greater. If the nerve should be performing like a sports car, but is instead performing like the saloon car, then a Neurological Chiropractor will examine the patient to discern why, and how a change can be effected without using drugs or surgery.
