After completing his basic medical education (MBBS) at the National University of Singapore in 1987, Dr Ong was accepted as a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in the United Kingdom in 1993 and subsequently completed his specialist training in Respiratory Medicine at the Singapore General Hospital.
