Dr Anthony Siow has a special interest in Laparoscopy Keyhole Surgery. He aims to carry out his surgeries with Just One Cut, called Single Incision Laparoscopy, so that his patients can recover within days.
He was awarded the Ministry of Health HMDP Scholarship for Advanced Laparoscopy Surgery in Endometriosis and Pelvic Reconstruction and was appointed the first Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre, KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital.
Dr Siow’s passion for teaching laparoscopy earned him the KK Hospital Outstanding Clinical Teacher Award. He has trained many regional gynaecologist in the finer aspects of laparoscopy. Many of his fellows are now heading leadership positions in their career.
He is the first Gynaecologist in Singapore to perform Single Incision Laparoscopy Hysterectomy, as well as Single Incision Laparoscopy Myomectomy. With his surgical colleague, they also performed the first combined Single Incision Laparoscopy Myomectomy and Cholecystectomy in Singapore.
