Practitioner Profile

Dr Lee graduated from the Medical Faculty at the National University of Singapore in 1985 and obtained Post-Graduate Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh (FRCS Ed) in 1990 and Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine Singapore in General Surgery.

She was awarded a fellowship by the Singapore Cancer Society and Singapore General Hospital and completed her sub-speciality training in Breast Surgery at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA in 1995. She practised as a general and breast surgeon at the Singapore General Hospital before commencing speciality private practice in Breast Surgery at the Mount Alvernia Hospital in 1997. 

Dr Lee has been active as an international speaker in conferences, courses and meetings on Breast Surgery and has been on the faculty of international meetings and courses in the region. She has published research papers on screening, diagnosis and treatment on Breast Cancer. She was also awarded the National Medical Council Research Grant in 1995 and completed the National research project on the Gamma probe localization for sentinel lymph node biopsy for breast cancer at the Singapore General Hospital as Principal Lead Investigator. Dr Lee was also involved in the pilot Singapore Breast Cancer Screening Program in 1996. She is also a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and The American Society of Breast Diseases.
