Dr Shawna D’dharan graduated from Saveetha Dental College, an institution recognised as among the leading private dental schools in India. As one of the college’s most promising graduates, Dr Shawna excelled in her clinical practice, emerging 2nd out of 100 students in her graduating class.
Dr Shawna is a recipient of the IDA-Colgate scholarship. A strong academic, she also spent her tertiary years doing research and authoring several scientific journal articles in pharmacy and dentistry. Her articles have been published by numerous medical journals, and now referenced by practitioners alike.
Dr. Shawna’s clinical approach and philosophy are rooted in prevention. As a firm believer in preventive dentistry, she works closely with her patients to help them develop practical and consistent everyday oral health habits.
During her undergraduate years, she received the 'Best Budding Surgery Award' for the year 2016. Also, the 'Best Research Award' at Saveetha Transdisciplinary Annual Research Summit in 2015 and 'Best Paper' at the Undergraduate Clinical Society Meeting in 2016.
Above all, Dr Shawna’s practice in general dentistry allows her to serve the patients she believes in helping the most—children. Each year she makes trips to Cambodia, volunteering her expertise in setting up mobile clinics and providing dental treatment to children and youth in remote communities across the country.
