Dr Shanker is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). He is the immediate past president of the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (Singapore Chapter) He was formerly the Director of the LIFE Centre and Senior Consultant and Chief of the Metabolic-Bariatric Surgery service at the Department of Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery, SGH. Ms Izabela Kerner graduated from the University of Sydney with a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics in 1998. She is an Accredited Dietitian of Singapore and Australia with more than 15 years of clinical experience. She is also a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician and specializes in critical care nutrition and peri-operative management of surgical patients.
