Dr. John Yam received his medical training from the National University of Singapore. After his internship & clinical rotations in surgery & neonatology, he received his postgraduate training in obstetrics & gynaecology at the National University Hospital & KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital, Singapore.

Dr. Yam has been a Trainer for the yearly Regional MRCOG Part II examination course, Singapore, from 2003 to the present. He was also an examiner for the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Clinical Performance Examination (2012)

Dr. Yam’s many interests include minimally invasive gynaecological surgery (keyhole & conventional methods for gynaecological conditions) & pregnancy care (particularly monitoring of the mother & her foetus during labour & delivery). His laparoscopic & hysteroscopic repertoire runs the gamut of simple to complex conditions, including:
